Data Handling and Product Lookup

A clear explanation of how Sorted treats product records, what lookup can do, and why the physical label stays in control.

Core principle

Sorted is designed to keep the source of truth for a routine close to the user. The app can help discover products and organize records, but it is intentionally conservative about what it treats as trusted label data.

Live lookup

Live lookup can search external sources using a typed search term or barcode to help return product candidates.

Those results may help the user identify a product more quickly, but they do not replace checking the bottle label.

Current public experience

Sorted is not presented as an AI product. The current public app experience centers on organizing routines, tracking daily use, reviewing patterns, and managing supplement records.

If lookup helpers are used behind the scenes in specific builds or future configurations, they do not change the rule that the product label remains the source of truth.

Save-time protection

When a result is not verified, Sorted requires the user to confirm that they reviewed the match against the bottle label before saving it into a routine.

This is intended to reduce the risk of unverified or inferred product information being treated as final.

What AI is not used for

AI is not used to make diagnoses, treatment recommendations, medication safety decisions, or interaction judgments.

AI is not intended to replace the user’s own review of the product label or the guidance of a qualified professional.
